Anthropic Unveils Nasdaq IPO Filing, but Offering Price and Retail Purchase Date Remain Unset
The company has publicly filed its S-1 registration statement with the U.S. SEC and plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. The number of shares and the price range have yet to be determined.

Anthropic publicly filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 26 (local time), taking a formal step toward an initial public offering. The S-1 is the document companies file in the U.S. when they plan to sell shares to the public.
What shares, and where
Anthropic said it plans to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The proposed ticker symbol is ANT. The number of shares to be offered and the price range have not been set.
Filing the paperwork does not mean shares go on sale right away. According to the company, the registration statement has not yet become effective. Until it does, the shares cannot be sold and no offers to buy can be accepted. The actual offering will be conducted by means of a prospectus. No date has been set for when retail investors will be able to buy the stock.
A confidential filing came first, in June
Anthropic had previously submitted a draft S-1 to the SEC on a confidential basis on June 1. At the time, the company noted that whether the listing proceeds also depends on the SEC’s review and on market conditions. This time, the registration statement and its accompanying exhibits were made public together. Anyone who has been tracking the listing plans can now read what the company filed for themselves.
What investors should watch
Knowing the proposed ticker ANT is not the same as being able to take part in the offering. The number of shares to be offered, the price range, and the date when retail investors can buy the stock have yet to be determined. The effectiveness of the registration statement is another item to watch. Only once those three pieces are settled can anyone weigh the timing and terms of participating in the offering.
