Apple's Rumored 'HomeView': How Would It Differ From the Existing 'Home' App?
TechCrunch, citing Bloomberg, reported on a new Apple smart home device called "HomeView." The open question is what it would add beyond the "Home" app that already controls devices around the house.

A new Apple smart home device called “HomeView” is reportedly on the way. TechCrunch reported on the device on October 11 (local time), citing a Bloomberg report. Apple has not officially announced the device. TechCrunch noted that reports of Apple developing new smart home products have surfaced repeatedly over the past few years.
Apple already lets users control devices around the house through its “Home” app. On its official Korean-language Home app page, the company describes Apple TV as a home hub that connects the devices in your home.
Other companies already sell screen-based controllers for home devices. Amazon’s Echo Hub is a wall-mounted touchscreen device. Google’s Nest Hub lets users control compatible devices using its screen and voice commands.
For users in Korea, the key questions will be whether the device launches locally, whether it supports Korean, and how much it costs. Another point of interest is how much more it can do than what the existing “Home” app already handles. How well it connects to the devices people actually use at home will be one factor in how useful it turns out to be.
