"LGTM," a Music Video Built on AI-Written Code, Skewers Code Review Culture

The YouTube channel Degenerative Pixels released a music video in October titled “LGTM (Looks Good to Me).” The animation on screen was produced from code written by Claude Opus 5.5.

The piece satirizes software teams facing shorter deadlines as they use AI. Its subject is the culture of approving code without really reading it. In other words, a video built from AI-written code is poking fun at the sloppy code review habits of the AI era.

How the music and animation were made

The music was generated with Suno v6, an AI music generation tool. The on-screen animation was implemented from code written by Claude Opus 5.5. The AI wrote a program that renders moving imagery, and the output of that program became the video’s visual material.

What Claude handled here was not making the video itself, but writing the code that draws the animation. That is a different route from simply asking an AI to output a video file directly. It is a case of coding-oriented AI stretching beyond software development into the visual direction of a music video.

Is the same model available in Korea?

Anthropic unveiled Opus 5.5 on September 22 local time. The company’s own measurement put its score on the Terminal-Bench 4.0 performance test at 66.4%, which is 14.1 percentage points higher than the 52.3% posted by the previous model, Opus 5.

For developers wiring it into their own services, pricing is $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens. A token is a unit produced by slicing text into small pieces. Anthropic says that for common workloads, costs run roughly 40% lower than with Opus 5.

Opus 5.5 is available to Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise users, as well as to developers on the Claude Platform. It can also be used through Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. South Korea is among the regions Anthropic supports, so Claude and its developer services are available domestically.

“LGTM” is an example of completing an entire music video by combining a music generation tool with a code-writing tool. Anyone thinking of attempting something similar would do well to weigh not just the finished visuals but also how extensively people edited the code, how long production took, and what it all cost.
